Unveiling an Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Poop with the Goal to Find the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have found a variety of engaging independent titles. However, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game includes a hero that is actually a turd trying to make its way to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."
Player controls is straightforward: you only need a jump control. In one hundred fifty levels, encounter mini-bosses and unlock a store to buy skins for your dung hero.
Plan your actions with caution, since one wrong move requires beginning again. Bounce off floating orbs to launch your character to new heights, traverse disappearing surfaces, and activate buttons to open secret routes. Earn coins to purchase more difficult stages as things gets crazy.
Visually, the demo features neon environments and a killer music score. The simple graphics with morphing abstract forms evokes memories of fans of old favorites like Earthbound.
While it's tough to name other games where you play as a dung character, video games frequently incorporated scatological themes. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players craft explosives from protagonist droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as plant food. And of course, fecal references shows up extensively in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.
Putting aside its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already earned impressive recognition, like taking top honors at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the final release scheduled to arrive on PC in the fall.
