Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Coast
An aircraft hovering near a popular southern California coastline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and crashing into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Videos shared on social media capture the chopper beginning to twirl above the beach then falling towards the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm groves and a steps adjacent to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
